Handy Wicaksono is awarded bachelor and master by Electrical Engineering Department, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology in 2003 and 2009. He got his doctoral degree in 2020 form School of Computer Science and Engineering, UNSW Sydney, under supervision of Prof. Claude Sammut. His research interests are artificial intelligence applications in robotics and automation, smart manufacturing, active assisted living, and internet of things.
In 2004, Handy has been joining Electrical Engineering Department, Petra Christian University as a lecturer. He has ever appointed as the head of control system laboratory (2009-2013), the head of telematics laboratory (2019-2020), and the secretary of department (2020-2022). Since 2022, he has been appointed as the head of department.
In the last five years, Handy has been the lead researcher for three applied research grants (Hibah PTUPT), one industrial matching fund grant (Hibah MF Kedaireka), and one researcher mobility program (World Class Professor Program) from Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia. He has authored more than 50 scientific publications (including 3 books in industrial automation). In 2023, he has received Petra Award for “Lecturer with Best Research Performance in Exact Science and Engineering”.
